KIT LIST - Nepal and Tibet
With motorcycle clothing it is important to have the protection however it is equally important to be comfortable as you could be wearing most days. Below is a suggestive list of what clothing and equipment you may need to take on a RAMS Adventures however please talk to one of the team if you need some advice.
JACKET Hot, cold, dry, dusty and wet weather may be experienced.......even in just one day. Layered textile jackets are ideal as you can remove layers when you need and most jackets have removable armour. It can be cold at high altitude so perhaps even consider an electric heated under jacket. Suggestion - Revit or Alpinestars |
SLEEPING BAG
Although bedding will be provided every night, you may prefer your own sleeping bag for the cooler nights. At Everest Base Camp there is the possibility of an electric blanket if you feel the cold.
BASIC FIRST AID KIT
Items that may be very useful include rehydration salt sachets, paracetamol, ibuprofen, antiseptic cream and sticking plasters.
HIGH FACTOR SUN CREAM
Even in when it is cold in the mountains the sun can be strong
SUNGLASSES
Either to wear on the bike or in the mountains
ALCOHOL HANDSPRAY
After washing your hands its always a good idea for some alcohol spray before eating
DEET - INSECT REPELLENT
Keep those little critters at bay
SWIM WEAR
There is always opportunity for a swim
TOWEL
Some the basic homestay accommodation may be lacking in a towel, essential to have one with you
SMALL LUGGAGE OR RUCKSACK
The route in Nepal is followed by the luggage vehicle, if possible pack light with only the essentials for the trip
WARM JACKET or COAT
For the high altitude sections of the ride it can be cold so perhaps consider a puffer style down jacket or coat.
HAT
Keep those ears warm with a wooly hat
CLOTHING
Nepal can be warm, however Tibet can be cold with a possibility of snow at altitude so be sure to pack clothes that reflect this. T-Shirts, long trousers, shorts and a fleece are essential, however there is always the chance to top up on warm North Face clothing in Kathmandu if required.
